Therapeutic: The Wintergreen oil is not recommended for any of the aromatherapy purposes. Therapeutically, Wintergreen Oil is mainly used to ease joint and muscular pains when diluted with carrier oil. It is also put into use for relieving severe respiratory conditions such as chronic mucous discharge.

Medicinal: Wintergreen oil is mostly used as a remedy for bleeding wounds caused by dog bites, snakebites and insect bites. It is also used as poultices which are good for boils, swellings, ulcers and old sores. Body diseases and disorders such as - lumbago, sciatica, arthritis, gout, bursitis, bunions, rheumatism, sprains/strains, neuralgia, fibromyalgia, sinusitis, coughs, tendonitis, flu, asthma, cramps, muscle spasms, digestive problems, fluid retention and irregular/lack of periods are also addressed by the use of this oil.

‘Did you know?’: Wintergreen has been used in traditional folk remedies which led to the discovery of Methyl -Salicylate (its main ingredient) as a pain reliever!
