Tylosin tartrate is effective against Gram positive bacteria and some negative bacteria, but its effect is weak and it has a strong effect on Mycoplasma. It is one of the macrolide drugs with a strong effect on Mycoplasma. Susceptible bacteria and mycoplasma are prone to develop resistance to tetracycline, and can also develop cross resistance with other antibiotics such as erythromycin. The absorption of tartaric acid salt is better when taking Tylosin orally, while the absorption of phosphate is poor. Tartaric acid salts are easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (mainly the intestine) after oral administration. After oral administration to pigs, the blood drug peak concentration is reached 1 hour, and the blood drug concentration of intramuscular or subcutaneous injection of an equal amount of Tylosin Chemicalbook is 2-3 times higher than that of oral administration. Pigs excrete faster than poultry. Clinically, it is mainly used to prevent and treat Mycoplasma infections in chickens, turkeys, and other animals, and has only a preventive effect on Mycoplasma in pigs without any therapeutic effect. In addition, Tylosin is also used for pneumonia, mastitis, endometritis, and enteritis caused by infections such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Vibrio coli, and spirochetes, but has no significant therapeutic effect on infections such as Escherichia coli and Pasteurella. Tylosin can also be used in poultry to prevent coccidiosis infection and soak eggs to prevent the spread of Mycoplasma in turkeys.
