Thymolphthalein is often used as an acid-base indicator, its pH discoloration range is 9.4~10.6, and the color change is colorless to blue. It is often used as a 0.1% 90% ethanol solution, and is often mixed with other indicators to make its discoloration range narrower and Chemicalbook observation clearer. For example, an indicator made by mixing 0.1% ethanol solution of the reagent and a 0.1% phenolphthalein ethanol solution is colorless in acidic solution, purple in alkaline solution, and rosy at pH 9.9 (color change point), which is easy to observe.
