INDICATIONS AND USAGE
It is indicated for:
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Intravenous administration:
Dissolve with normal saline before use, inject 0.25mg/3~5min with slow impact, or continuously drip 0.25 mg/h (equivalent to 3.5 μ g / kg · h according to body weight). When the interval between infusion and administration is more than 3~5min, the measure of reinjection 0.25 mg of this product should be taken to ensure the continuity of administration.
Treatment of severe acute gastrointestinal bleeding (including esophageal variceal bleeding):
It is suggested that 0.25 mg somatostatin should be injected into the vein slowly as the loading dose, and then 0.25mg/h intravenous drip should be given immediately. When the interval between the two infusion is more than 3~5min, the measure of intravenous injection of 0.25 mg somatostatin should be taken again to ensure the continuity of administration. When the bleeding is stopped (usually within 12~24 hours), the treatment should be continued for 48~72 hours to prevent further bleeding. For these cases, the usual treatment time is 120 hours.
Auxiliary treatment of pancreatic fistula, biliary fistula and intestinal fistula:
Intravenous drip should be used at a rate of 0.25mg/h until the fistula is closed (2~20 days). This treatment can be used as an auxiliary measure of total parenteral nutrition. When the fistula is closed, the intravenous drip of somatostatin should be continued for 1-3 days, and then the drug should be stopped gradually to prevent rebound.
Prevention and treatment of complications after pancreatic surgery:
At the beginning of the operation, somatostatin is used as adjuvant treatment; intravenous drip is 0.25mg/h. After the operation, the intravenous drip lasts for 5 days.
Adjuvant treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis:
Continuous intravenous drip at the rate of 0.1~0.5mg/h is used as an auxiliary measure for insulin treatment (1-4.8u/h intravenous drip after 10u shock). Generally in 3 hours to alleviate ketoacidosis, 4 hours can make blood sugar return to normal.
