PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Rutin, also called rutoside, quercetin-3-rutinoside and sophorin, is a citrus flavonoid glycoside found in the flower bud of Scphora japonica L, It is also present in many other plants and sometimes referred to as Vitamin P, although not strictly a vitamin.

Rutin (quercetin rutinoside), as well as quercitrin, is a glycoside of the flavonoid Quercetin. As such,the chemical structure of both is very similar, with the difference existing in the Hydroxyl functional group.

PRODUCT FUNCTION

1.Rutin is a phenolic antioxidant that has been shown to scavenge superoxide free radicals;

2.Rutin can promote blood circulation and help reduce cholesterol in the blood;

3.Rutin is a bioflavonoid. Can enhance the absorption of vitamin C; and has antibacterial effect;

4.Rutin can chelate metal ions, such as ferrous cations. Ferrous cations participate in the so-called Fenton reaction, which produces reactive oxygen species.
