Haematococcus pluvialis, is a ubiquitous green alga, belonging to the order Clusteria, the family Haematococcidae. Haematococcus pluvialis exists widely in nature under suitable conditions. Haematococcus pluvialis is a microalga with high astaxanthin content. It is also a species with a high accumulation of astaxanthin biosynthetic organisms. It is recognized as a good natural Astaxanthin-producing organism.
