1. Molecular formula: P4
2. Molecular weight: 123.89
3. Physical and chemical properties:
The allotrope of white phosphorus, reddish-brown amorphous powder or block solid. The relative density is 2.20, the melting point is 590℃, and the ignition point is above 200℃. Insoluble in water, carbon disulfide and organic solvents, slightly soluble in absolute ethanol, soluble in phosphorus tribromide and sodium hydroxide. It can cause an explosion when it comes in contact with oxidants.
Fourth, use:
Electronic grade red phosphorus is one of the main materials for the synthesis of phosphorus compound semiconductors, which can be used to synthesize indium phosphide (InP), gallium phosphide (GaP), aluminum gallium arsenide (AlGaAsP), indium gallium arsenide (InGaAsP), Compound semiconductors such as gallium arsenide phosphorous (GaAsP). Red phosphorus can also be used as a solid-state phosphorus source for IC doping.
