Polymer syringes
As diverse as the applications
The material used for the syringes is a high performance polymer called COP (Cyclic Olefin Polymer). It is suitable for use as primary packaging for sophisticated medications, especially for sensitive biologicals, biosimilars and biobetters, but also e.g. hyaluronic acid applications.
COP polymer syringes are distinguished by a high degree of break resistance and a glass-like transparency. COP releases no alkali ions, which means that the risk of a pH value shift is eliminated. Since the entire plastic syringe, including the insert-molded needle, is produced in a single step, the polymer syringes hence become free of tungsten and adhesives.
Production in the injection molding process ensures precise dimensions. The dead volume in the polymer syringe is also minimized, reducing overall waste of the costly drugs. The material enables a broad range of design options, which make it ideal for customer specific-requirements. The polymer syringes are also engineered for use in autoinjectors thanks to their robustness and precision.
We also offer our customers an extensive portfolio of prefillable glass syringes that are adapted to the current requirements of the pharmaceutical industry and fulfill the requirements of modern filling systems.
