Paracetamol Injection/Infusion

Component:
Acetaminophen. The chemical name is N- (4-hydroxyphenyl) acetamide.

Character:

This product is colorless or almost colorless and slightly viscous clear liquid.

Indications:

For fever, can also be used to relieve mild to moderate pain, such as headache, muscle pain, joint pain and neuralgia, dysmenorrhea, cancer pain and postoperative pain. This product can be used in patients who are allergic to or cannot tolerate aspirin. This product is ineffective for all kinds of severe pain and visceral smooth muscle colic.

Usage and dosage:

Intramuscular injection of 0.15g ~ 0.25g. This product should not be used for a long time, the course of antipyretic treatment is generally not more than 3 days, analgesia should not exceed 10 days.

Matters needing attention:

1. Cross allergic reaction: People allergic to aspirin generally do not have an allergic reaction to this product, but there are reports of wheezing due to aspirin allergy in a small number of patients (< 5%) may develop mild bronchospastic reaction after application of this product.

2. The following situations should be used with caution:

(1) when alcohol poisoning, liver disease or viral hepatitis, there is a risk of increased liver toxicity;

(2) Renal insufficiency, although it can be used occasionally, but if long-term application, there is a risk of increasing renal toxicity.

3. Blood and liver function should be checked regularly during long-term treatment.

4. Interference with laboratory tests:

(1) For blood glucose measurement, low false value can be obtained by using glucose oxidase method, but no effect can be obtained by using hexokinase / 6-phosphate dehydrogenase method;

(2) Serum uric acid determination, the application of phosphotungstic acid method can obtain false high value;

(3) Urine 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) determination, using nitrosonaphthol reagent for qualitative screening test can obtain false positive results, quantitative test is not affected.
