Description
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate powder is a vitamin C derivative. The derivatization of the 2-hydroxyl group into phosphate can improve the stability of vitamin C. The formed derivative can regenerate vitamin C after being hydrolyzed by magnesium phosphate widely present in the body. Therefore, it has become the main component of feed additives, food fortifiers and advanced cosmetic whitening, and is a valuable fine chemical.
Effect
Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate can be rapidly dissociated into Vc through substrates in the body to exert its physiological and biological functions
Antioxidant Properties: MAP destroys free radicals and can repair fine lines and wrinkles.
Moisturizes the skin: MAP increases the skin's moisture content to help keep it soft
Lightens dark spots:Reduces dark spots, freckles, melasma and any other type of pigmentation
Firms Skin: Boosts the production of collagen, the protein that keeps skin firm and prevents sagging.
Brighten skin tone: Revitalizes dull skin
What Makes MAP Better Than Other Forms Of Vitamin C?
MAP is stable: Unlike pure vitamin C, it doesn't stop working when exposed to light and air. It also goes bad eventually, but it lasts longer.
Small doses of MAP work well: as little as 5% is enough to lighten dark spots
MAP is milder: While pure vitamin C has a lower pH and is acidic, which can irritate the skin, MAP has a neutral pH and shouldn't cause any problems at all.
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate powder is a water-soluble, non-irritating, stable derivative of Vitamin C. It has the same potential as vitamin C to boost skin collagen synthesis but is effective in significantly lower concentrations, and can be used at concentrations as low as 10% to suppress melanin formation (in skin-whitening solutions). It is also important to note that Magnesuim Ascorbyl Phosphate may be better choice than Vitamin C for people with sensitive skin and those wishing to avoid any exfoliating effects since many Vitamin C formulas are highly acidic (and therefore produce exfoliating effects).
Application
Used in Cosmetic Fileds:
1. MAP can be used in a wide range of skin care and beauty products including face creams, face masks, and foundation.
2. In skin care products, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (MAP) is also used for UV protection and repair, collagen production, skin lightening and brightening, and as an anti-inflammatory.
3. It is also a potent antioxidant.
4. It is considered an excellent non-irritating skin whitening agent that inhibits skin cells to produce melanin and lightens age spots, and is a great alternative to Quinone.
5. Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a also a potent anti-oxidant that can protect skin from oxidation and UV rays, and is used as an anti-inflammatory
Used as Food Additive:
1. It can effectively extend the food storage period,
2. It can provide all kinds of canned and packaged food and meat products color antistaling agent.
What are the benefits of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate?
Stability
One advantage of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is that it provides a stable, water-soluble form of vitamin C.
Furthermore, at a pH of 7, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate is easily absorbed into the skin and is less likely to cause irritation than ascorbic acid.
Unlike L-ascorbic acid, it does not readily degrade in formulas containing water. It is also considered light-stable and oxygen-stable. Studies of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate in aqueous solutions indicate it retains over 95% of its potency at 40°C without any pH adjustment.
Antioxidant
Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate powder functions as an antioxidant. Like other antioxidants, it is capable of protecting the skin from free radicals. Specifically, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate donates electrons to neutralize free radicals such as the superoxide ion and peroxide that are generated when the skin is exposed to UV light.
Hyperpigmentation
Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, interacts with copper ions at tyrosinase-active sites and inhibits the action of the enzyme tyrosinase, the main enzyme responsible for the conversion of tyrosine into melanin, thereby decreasing melanin formation.
