3-Indolebutyric acid, also known as indolebutyric acid, nitroindanebutyric acid, molecular formula C11H12O2N, molecular weight 190.22, pure product is white crystalline solid, melting point 124~125 °C. Industrial products are white to light yellow crystals, melting point 121~124 °C. There is a special smell, toxic! Irritating, vapor pressure 100 at 60°C; acetone, ethanol, ether 3~10; Chloroform 1~10. 3-Indolebutyric acid is low toxicity to humans and animals, stable to acids, and salts in solution of hydroxide and carbonated Chemicalbook complex of alkali metal. It can be obtained by indole by the Glenzia reaction or by nitrile hydrolysis. In agriculture, 3-indolebutyric acid can be used as a plant growth promoter, which can promote root growth and fruit ripening. Its effect is stronger than indole acetic acid. Indolebutyric acid is a good growth regulator for rooting of large cherry rootstock cuttings. Cuttings can be treated with high-concentration rapid dipping or immersion. The high-concentration rapid dipping method is to dip the base of the cuttings in a concentration of 5×10-4~1×10-2IBA solution for 5 seconds, and then immediately insert the cuttings on the insertion bed. It has the advantages of short processing time, uniform dosing and good effect. After treatment, if simazine (20.375 grams per meter) is added to the insertion bed, the root rate is higher.
