    Guanidine isothiocyanate is a white crystalline substance with a melting point of 116-121 ℃. At 20 ℃, the pH value of 6mol/L in water is 4.5-6, and its solubility is complete dissolution. It is a type of uncoupling agent, a strong protein denaturing agent that can dissolve proteins and cause the disappearance of protein secondary structures, cellular structure degradation, and rapid separation of nuclear proteins from nucleic acids. Used for transgender lysis of cells; Extract RNA and DNA without RNAse and DNAse activity. Application: Guanidine thiocyanate can be used as a biochemical reagent and pharmaceutical intermediate. Used for degreasing in the oil industry, as a strong lipid degrading agent in daily chemical industry, and as a cell membrane disruptor in biopharmaceuticals. The principle of action of guanidine isothiocyanate phenol method for extracting RNA: guanidine isothiocyanate and b-mercaptoethanol work together to inhibit the activity of RNA, while guanidine isothiocyanate and sodium dodecyl sarcosinate work together to denature proteins and release RNA; Under acidic conditions, DNA rarely dissociates and denatures and precipitates together with proteins, while RNA dissolves in the supernatant. Research purposes: Thiocyanuric acid guanidine has been used: • to lyse colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines before RNA isolation • as a PCR inhibitor for triple mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) qPCR detection Thiocyanuric acid guanidine is a denaturing agent commonly used in RNA isolation. It is used as a storage buffer for whole blood samples. Guanidine thiocyanate can inactivate nucleases and is an ideal choice for storing and freezing fecal samples for DNA research. Combined with phenol chloroform in RNA extraction, chemical hair removal agents are used in the field of chemical hair removal. Chemical hair removal agents are a type of hair removal agent that can soften and reduce hair strength, and can be wiped or rinsed off within 2-6 minutes. Due to the similarity in composition between hair dryer and skin, chemical hair removal agents are inevitably harmful to the skin. Therefore, hair removal agents are classified as special purpose cosmetics.
