Conventional laboratory and industrial centrifuges are not allowed to centrifuge explosive or flammable substances in principle during the daily separation of mixtures. All centrifuge manufacturers will clearly issue risk warnings in their "operation manuals".
However, in reality, it is inevitable to centrifuge volatile organic solvents.
To this end, Herolab has specially developed an inert gas protection system for this purpose based on the HiCen red series high-capacity centrifuge. It can be widely used in scientific research and production fields such as medicine, food, and chemical industry. Provide high-level safety for customers to handle volatile, flammable and explosive samples.
Its basic principle is to fill the centrifugal cavity with nitrogen through the cooperation of a series of valves and sensors, so that the cavity is always under the protection of inert gas during the operation of the centrifugal program, thereby eliminating potential deflagration risks.
The system complies with the SIL 2 safety standard of the International Electrotechnical Association (IEC). A dual-pipeline design scheme is adopted for mutual backup. Even in the case of mainframe power failure, it can still ensure the smooth completion of nitrogen filling action. And in an emergency, it can automatically interrupt the continuous operation of the centrifugation program in time, so as to ensure the safety of organic matter centrifugation.
