Hydrogenation is one of the more important reactions in chemical synthesis, but the hazardous nature of hydrogen limits its use. The Flow Hydrogenator substrate is continuously flowed into the reaction chamber after mixing with hydrogen generated by in-situ electrolysis, facilitated by micro-flow technology, which effectively improves the efficiency of three-phase mixing. The hydrogen-substrate mixture can be rapidly and uniformly heated to 150°C and 100 bar, under which most reactions reach very high conversion in only a few minutes. The reaction hydrogen mixture is efficiently contacted with the catalyst surface in the catalytic column, reacts rapidly at high temperature and pressure and is collected after passing through the filter. Reductions of 10mg-100g of reactants can be carried out in a matter of minutes, resulting in very high conversion rates. The system is easy to operate with a touch screen display and is highly intelligent, allowing the reaction to be modified on-line.
