Lutein is a naturally occurring molecule found in dark green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale and collard greens and numerous studies have suggested that lutein intake fortifies the macula of the eye.
Marigold is the raw material for out plant to get the lutein product. Marigold can mean flowering plants in the family Asteraceae in the following genera: Calendula (Marigold or Pot Marigold) Tagetes (Mexican marigold, African marigold or French marigold) Glebionis segetum (syn. Chrysanthemum segetum; Corn Marigold)
3.Applications:
Lutein as skin cancer inhibitor and care skin.
Lutein as inhibitor of LDL cholesterol Oxidizing.
Lutein as inhibitor of tumor and cancer.
Lutein and its oxidative metabolites in chemoprevention of cancer.
Lutein as inhibitor of blood-vessel clogging.
Lutein delays lung aging.Lutein as inhibitor of arthritis.
Lutein as AMD inhibitor,Cataract inhibitor, and eyes benefitor.
4.Description:
Marigold flowers are manufactured from the dried flower petals. These are extracted according to high standard specifications. The marigold extract is heated to increase flowability and then purified to remove the fatty acids commonly found in marigold extract and produces crystalline lutein and zeaxanthin.
Lutein is a well known carotenoid found in the human diet, blood, and tissues. Evidence suggests that lutein consumption is inversely related to eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts. This is supported by the finding that lutein is specifically deposited in ocular tissues, such as the lens and the macula lutea, an area of the retina responsible for central and high acuity vision.
Lutein is believed to function in two ways: First in a photo-protective way as a filter of damaging blue light from sunlight. Second as an antioxidant that quenches free radicals and reactive oxygen species.
5.Indications and Uses:
Lutein can lower the risk of age related vision loss, which causes gradual loss of central vision. Age related vision loss or age related macular degeneration (AMD) is caused by steady damage of the retina. Lutein probably acts by preventing oxidative damage of the retina cells. Lutein is concentrated in the central part of the retina, called the macula. In the macula are yellow pigments (macular pigments composed of zeaxanthin and lutein) which protect the retina from damage of the photo-oxidative affect of blue light.
Lutein can also reduce the risk for artery diseases. Studies have shown that persons with the highest lutein intake showed the lowest artery wall thickening. Lutein also reduces the oxidation of LDL cholesterol thereby reducing the risk of artery clogging.
Lutein can also reduce the risk of skin cancer and sunburn. Under influence of sunlight, free radicals are formed inside the skin. These free radicals can damage the DNA of cells. Lutein can protect against the damaging effects of UV-B radiation.
6.Pharmacology Action:
As a pigment: Orange natural pigment is widely used in chicken feed and also in some food, but the scope is limited because they do not dissolve in water.
Eye protection: Lutein can absorb blue light. The sun's ultraviolet, blue light into eyes will produce a large number of free radicals, cause cataracts, macular degeneration and even cancer. The human's eye contains high level of lutein which can not be produced by human' bodies and which must be supplemented by intake of it. Studies show that intake of lutein will help slow the aging, degradation, disease occur of eyes and reduce the incidence of eye-diseases and protect the retina from light damage.
Antioxidant: The latest studies show that lutein is helpful for the treatment of heart disease and may prevent arterial wall thickening.
Promoting the healthy of eye and skin through reducing the risk of macular degeneration, supporting normal eye functions and protecting the retina by blocking harmful blue light.
Eliminating free-radicals, protecting human body from harm, improve immunity, protecting skin from the harmful solar ray.
