Basic Information

The chemical name of Ferulic Acid is 4 hydroxy 3 methoxy cinnamic acid, which is one of the derivatives of cinnamic acid (also known as cinnamic acid, 3 phenyl 2 acrylic acid, molecular structure). Ferulic acid was originally found in plants Found in the seeds and leaves of the plant, it is a phenolic acid that is widely present in plants. It combines with polysaccharides and proteins in the cell wall to form the skeleton of the cell wall.

It has a high content in Chinese medicinal materials such as Asafoetida, Angelica, Chuanxiong, Cimicifuga, Jujube seed, etc. It is one of the effective ingredients of these Chinese medicines and has been used as one of the quality indicators of Chinese patent medicines. Among the food raw materials, coffee, chaff, pandan beans, wheat bran, and rice bran also contain higher levels of ferulic acid.
