    Ion exchange chromatography(IEC)is a very effective method for the separation and purification of biomolecule. The method mainly relies on the interaction between positive and negative charges, and uses the charge properties and differences of different biological molecules under specific conditions to separate them. It has the characteristics of high load, good resolution, controllable condition and easy scale-up. It has been widely used in medicine, chemical industry, metallurgy, food and other fields. However, when doing ion exchange chromatography, the salt content in the sample should not be too high. The compound ion exchange resin has a certain salt tolerance by introducing benzene ring on the ligand, which eliminates the desalting step of high salt samples and expands the application range of ion exchange.  

    The ion exchange resin is composed of three parts:

    (1)Cross-linked mesh base frame, which is porous, hydrophilic and chemically stable;Diamond matrix are highly rigid agarose matrix, which are chemically modified from the traditional Bestarose 6FF matrix, with better mechanical properties.

    (2)The functional group fixed on the base frame, it is a compound charged group, usually by the charge part and hydrophobic part of two parts;

    (3)An ion (called an equilibrium ion) that has an opposite charge to the functional group and can be reversibly bound to the functional group.

    Diamond MMC Mustang is a multimodal weak cation exchange resin formed by coupling a composite group with a benzene ring and a carboxyl group to high-rigidity agarose microspheres with an average particle size of 40μm.
