Desmopressin

Indications:

• Central diabetes insipidus
• Primary nocturnal enuresis
• Management of mild forms of von Willebrand's disease and mild-to-moderate hemophilia A

Mechanism of Action: Desmopressin acts on the V2 receptor in renal collecting ducts, increasing water reabsorption and thus concentrating the urine. It also increases plasma factor VIII levels and von Willebrand factor, aiding in the management of some bleeding disorders.
