Introduction: 3- [(3-chloroaminopropyl) dimethylamino] -2-hydroxy-1-propanesulfonic acid internal salt can be used as a research reagent, a non denaturing zwitterionic descaling agent, equivalent to CHAPS, although it has a more polar head group in Chemicalbook. Commonly used to increase the dissolution of surface proteins within cell membranes. A non denaturing zwitterionic detergent with properties similar to CHAPS, but more soluble due to its more polar head group. Suitable for solubilization of intrinsic membrane proteins.
