[Characteristics] The third generation of cephalosporin broad-spectrum antibiotics is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially E. coli, which has strong antibacterial and bactericidal effects. Cefotaxime sodium has a strong effect on Gram-negative bacteria in particular, and is significantly better than the first and second generation cephalosporins. In addition to being less effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa than Pioneer, it is also effective against influenzae, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter, Citronella Acidobacteria, Serratia, Klebsiella and β-lactamase-producing resistant Escherichia coli are all stronger than Pioneer. At the same time, cefotaxime sodium is also better than Pioneer in penetrating into the cerebrospinal fluid to treat meningitis caused by Gram-negative bacteria.
[Indications] Suitable for systemic and local infections caused by bacteria sensitive to this product: respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, sepsis, bacterial endocarditis, bone and joint infection, abdominal infection, reproductive system infection, etc.
[Usage and Dosage] 20-30 mg/kg for foals, 25-50 mg/kg for dogs and cats; the dosage concentration in poultry drinking water is 2/10,000 (that is, 20 grams of this product is added to 100KG of drinking water).
