PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Azelaic acid is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C9H16O4, which appears as white to slightly yellow monoclinic prisms, needle-like crystals or powder.

It is a naturally occurring saturated dicarboxylic acid containing nine carbon atoms.

PRODUCT FUNCTION

1.Antibacterial

Azelaic acid is bactericidal against Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis due to its inhibitory effect on microbial cell protein synthesis.

2.Lowers skin lipids

Competitively inhibits the enzymatic process that produces dihydrotestosterone and reduces the excess oil in the skin induced by the dihydrotestosterone factor.

3.Freckles

For ordinary skin whitening effect is not very obvious, but for severe pigmentation, such as freckles chloasma, melanosis, etc. have a very obvious effect.

4.Acne

Acne is mainly caused by the strong secretion of skin oil, which produces propionic acid bacteria. Azelaic acid has the effect of simulating and killing various aerobic and anaerobic bacteria in skin acne.

5.Anti-inflammatory

Azelaic acid also possesses a direct anti-inflammatory effect due to its scavenger activity of free oxygen radical.

APPLICATIONS

When applied topically in a 20% cream formulation, azelaic acid is effective against a variety of skin conditions, such as mild to moderate acne. Part of what it does is stop the growth of acne-causing skin bacteria and keep skin pores clean. The antibacterial effect of azelaic acid may be due to the inhibition of microbial cell protein synthesis.
