Physical and chemical properties: 2-morpholine ethanesulfonic acid is a white solid powder at room temperature and pressure, soluble in polar solvents such as water, ethanol, methanol, acetone, and insoluble in non-polar solvents. Its molecular structure contains a morpholine ring and an ethanesulfonic acid group. The morpholine ring is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound with high stability and inertness, and has no significant toxicity or irritation to living organisms. The ethanesulfonic acid group is a negatively charged functional group with good water solubility and buffering properties. Bioactive MES (2-Mopholinoethanesulfuric) is a zwitterionic buffer that is effective within the pH range of 5.5-7.7. As a kind of Good's buffer, MES is widely used in plant culture medium, reagent solution and physiological experiment to adjust pH value. Chemical properties: light yellow paste. Flash point 149 ℃, flow point 60 ℃. 25 ℃ water solubility 1%. Has high cleaning power, excellent calcium soap dispersibility, and resistance to hard water. Good biological solubility. Usage: This product is used as a calcium soap dispersant in soap and soap. Can replace sodium tripolyphosphate as a low phosphorus or phosphate free detergent. Production method: Surfactant MES, chemical name is sodium fatty acid methyl ester sulfonate. Common products include sodium stearic acid methyl ester sulfonate, sodium lauric acid methyl ester sulfonate, sodium carnitine methyl ester sulfonate, and sodium palmitic acid methyl ester sulfonate. Now, taking sodium stearate sulfonate as an example, the preparation method is introduced. The preparation process of this product includes three major steps: the preparation of methyl stearate, sulfonation of methyl stearate, and neutralization. Put lard into the reaction kettle and add methanol in a molar ratio of 1:2. After heating and dissolving with stirring, add 0.3% sulfuric acid as a catalyst. Heat and reflux for 6-7 hours, and the ester exchange reaction is complete. Transfer the material to the distillation tower, first evaporate excess methanol, and then reduce pressure to evaporate glycerol. The bottom material is methyl stearate, and then the methyl stearate is sent to the sulfonation kettle. Use sulfur trioxide as a sulfonating agent for sulfonation. The molar ratio of sulfur trioxide to methyl stearate is (1.2-1.25): 1. Dilute sulfur trioxide to around 6% to ensure that it is fully absorbed. The reaction temperature is controlled at 70-90 ℃. After 4-6 hours of reaction, bleach with 12% sodium hypochlorite. Finally, neutralize with sodium hydroxide aqueous solution to a pH value of 8-8.5.
