2-pyrrolidone is a colorless to slightly yellow liquid, with a faint amine odor. 2-P is a high-polar solvent and it is miscible with water and conventional organic  solvents.

Effects of contact or inhalation may be delayed.  Butylrubber or FEPTeflon gloves are recommended when handling 2-P .Wear safety glasses and chemical goggles if splashing is possible.

STORAGE & HANDLING:Store in a cool, dry place. Keep container closed when not in use.Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid ingestion and inhalation.
