2-Furoic acid is a white to off-white crystal powder. It’s easily soluble in ethanol and ether. 1g 2-Furoic acid can be dissolved in 26ml cold water or 4ml boiling water. Sublimation at 130-140°C (6.65-8kPa).

1)2-Furoic acid is a heterocyclic carboxylic acid that is widely used in food products as a preservative and flavouring agent.

4) substitute for chloropicrin in disinfecting grain elevators.
