What is CNS disease?

Central Nervous System (CNS) disease refers to a broad category of medical conditions that affect the brain and spinal cord, which together comprise the central nervous system. The CNS is responsible for coordinating and controlling the majority of bodily functions and cognitive processes.  Diseases of the CNS can have a wide range of causes, symptoms, and impacts on an individual's health and well-being.
