Ultrafiltration membrane is a sieving process related to the pore size of the membrane. The pressure difference on both sides of the membrane is used as the driving force. The small molecular clusters permeated in the past are called permeate, and the large molecular clusters of the original liquid are intercepted and do not penetrate into the liquid inlet side and become concentrated water, thus achieving the purpose of purifying, separating and concentrating the original liquid.

The basic characteristics of ultrafiltration membranes are:
(1) Separation at normal temperature and low pressure, low energy consumption and low operating cost.
(2) The equipment space is small, the structure is simple, and the investment cost is low.
(3) The pressure requirement in the ultrafiltration process is not high, and the general tap water pressure can transport the separated liquid, which is easy to operate, replace and maintain.
(4) The ultrafiltration membrane is a uniform continuum processed and produced by polymer materials. It is purified and filtered by pure physical methods, and there will be no qualitative change during operation, and there is no chemical reaction to bring residues.
(5) In winter, there is a slight decrease in water production due to the influence of water temperature, which is not particularly obvious.
Two filtration methods of ultrafiltration membrane:
(1) Internal pressure purification and filtration: The raw liquid is driven by the pressure difference from the inside to permeate through the hollow fiber membrane to become the permeate, and the intercepted material gathers on the outside of the hollow fiber.
(2) External pressure type purification and filtration: The external pressure type ultrafiltration membrane is sealed in the membrane shell, and there are dead corners left, which cannot achieve rapid flushing of the residue attached to the surface of the membrane, and cannot be completely cleaned.
1. Ultrafiltration membrane can be used in the purification of drinking water and mineral water;
2. Ultrafiltration membranes are used in the purification and recovery of industrial wastewater and domestic sewage;
3. Ultrafiltration membrane is used for concentration, purification and clarification in fermentation, enzyme preparation industry and pharmaceutical industry;
4. Ultrafiltration membranes are used in the separation, concentration and purification of biological products, pharmaceutical products and the food industry;
5. Ultrafiltration membranes are also used in terminal treatment devices in blood treatment, wastewater treatment and ultrapure water preparation.
6. Ultrafiltration membrane is used as reverse osmosis pretreatment and terminal treatment of ultrapure water in the preparation process of pure water and ultrapure water;
7. Ultrafiltration membrane in industrial water is used to separate bacteria, heat source, colloid, suspended impurities and macromolecular organic matter.
