India health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said the country has approved Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, but the company said it was too early to give a delivery timeline, as reported This is Money.
The vaccine will be brought to India through a supply agreement with local vaccine maker Biological E, Johnson & Johnson said.
"While we look forward to meeting our delivery commitments it is premature for us to speculate on the timing of our vaccine deliveries," Johnson & Johnson added.
"This decision was based on topline efficacy and safety data from the Phase 3 ENSEMBLE clinical trial," Johnson & Johnson said.
"This is an important step forward in accelerating availability of our COVID-19 vaccine to help end the pandemic," the company added.
