Grand River Aseptic Manufacturing (GRAM), an injectable contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has opened a new finishing and warehouse center located at 6670 Patterson Ave S.E., in Grand Rapids, MI. The company’s fourth GMP manufacturing facility adds an additional 110,000 sq.-ft. to the company’s growing footprint. The facility houses four inspection rooms; four finishing rooms; a QC laboratory; a weigh and dispense clean room; walk-in coolers/freezers; walk-in incubators; incoming and outgoing warehouse; and multiple truck bays.
GRAM also invested in advanced, industry-leading finishing equipment, including a new MG America labeling machine with Dividella packaging line, and two Stevanato fully-automated inspection systems.
“Opening another world-class facility in a year since our last is a significant milestone. The GRAM team is extraordinary, and the ribbon cutting followed by a company-wide celebration was entirely dedicated to them,” said GRAM President and CEO Tom Ross. “As we’ve expanded and modernized, the life sciences industry has recognized something we’ve had a front row seat to – that Grand Rapids has top-notch talent driving innovation and growth in Michigan and beyond.”
A ribbon cutting was held honoring GRAM employees as they celebrate the new Patterson Avenue facility.
The new facility marks the latest milestone in GRAM’s rapid growth to increase capacity and throughput to meet increased demand. The U.S.-based CDMO is currently on its phase II expansion of its large-scale fill/finish facility and has invested in a duplicate Bausch+Ströbel vial filler with SKAN Isolator technology as well as a VarioSys syringe and vial filler which will further increase capacity.
