KBI Biopharma, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) and JSR Life Sciences affiliate company, has named Dirk Lange as president and chief executive office. He will be responsible for setting KBI’s global vision, defining strategic priorities and ensuring KBI’s continuous focus on quality and innovation.
Mr. Lange will report to JSR Life Sciences president, Tim Lowery, who also serves as an officer of JSR Corporation and chairman of the KBI Biopharma board of directors.
"Dirk’s deep industry experience and understanding of what makes KBI special, make him an ideal choice to take over the leadership role," said Mr. Lowery. "I am confident in both his ability and his dedication to leading KBI."
Mr. Lange has more than 20 years of experience in the biopharma industry, most recently serving as KBI’s chief operating officer, where he oversaw operations at the company’s three U.S. manufacturing locations. In addition, he led KBI’s transition from a clinical to a commercial manufacturing organization. He has also held management positions at Novartis in Switzerland, Sandoz in Austria and Rentschler Biopharma in Germany.
Approaching 1000 employees in the U.S. and Europe, KBI is built upon a foundation of analytical capabilities, delivering efficient process development, clinical and commercial cGMP manufacturing services for mammalian, microbial, and cell therapy technologies.
