Shimadzu Opens New Mid-Atlantic Facility

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments (SSI) has opened its new Mid-Atlantic Regional office in Columbia, MD. The facility includes a state-of-the-art laboratory that will enable SSI to expand its ability to meet regional customers’ needs for analytical instrument design, development and support.
 
The new 5,000 square-foot facility will allow SSI’s sales engineers, service technicians and engineers, and technical support scientists to enhance their fast, efficient assistance for Mid-Atlantic customers and to ensure success with SSI instruments. The new space will also serve as a showcase for the latest SSI instrument and platform innovations.
 
"We are excited about the expansion of our Mid-Atlantic Regional office because it not only reflects the strong, ongoing growth of our company, it will also create new jobs for the local area," said Patrick Fromal, vice president of sales, Shimadzu Scientific Instruments. "In addition, the new facility will strengthen our ability to collaborate with current and prospective customers as we develop solutions to help them solve their specific challenges."
 
SSI, the American subsidiary of Shimadzu Corporation, provides a broad range of analytical instruments indispensable for research, development and quality control in a variety of fields. These high-level, sophisticated instruments include chromatographs, spectrometers, and elemental analysis systems. SSI also provides a broad range of high-precision physical testing and measuring technology that is essential for product development and quality assurance.
