Lupin launches chatbot ANYA for health-related queries

Indian pharma company Lupin has released a chatbot named ANYA, which has been designed to provide medically verified information for health-related questions.

Claimed to be the first bot of its kind launched in India for disease awareness, ANYA has been designed to be intelligent and patient-friendly. The chatbot has been created to answer patient queries about ailments.

ANYA has been trained to help patients with health-related concerns as part of their disease management.

The first therapy area ANYA will provide relevant information to users is diabetes, which is one of the most common lifestyle conditions in India.

Lupin IRF president Rajeev Sibal said: "Chatbot as a technology has enormous potential to aid in medical assistance and to support in building awareness and breaking myths associated with various therapies.

"We are taking the first step to offer this AI-based chatbot for patients and health-givers and we believe this will be a game-changer in the field of disease management in the future.

ANYA is intended as a disease-management partner, and has been designed to address all patient queries and ensures their health correspondence continues.

It aims to facilitate users partnering with doctors to manage health conditions. It also offers a platform for patients to gain access to medically verified information for their queries at any time.

Furthermore, ANYA is aimed at being a preferred partner for doctors in resolving patient queries and providing medically accurate information.

According to a recent research, India is estimated to have had 72 million cases of diabetes last year and the number is expected to almost double to 134 million by 2025.
