The increasingly strict environmental protection monitoring and implementation of the Chinese government are impacting and changing the development of the entire pharmaceutical industry. The Environmental Protection Tax Law will formally come into force on January 1, 2018, which clearly lists the tax items and tax amounts of the environmental protection tax, and will push pharmaceutical enterprises to confront the environmental issues and take corresponding measures.

The market space of the environmental equipment manufacturing industry continues to expand as the overall development of the environmental protection industry continues to speed up. According to the Guiding Opinions on Accelerating Development of the Environmental Equipment Manufacturing Industry issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the P.R.C. recently, China will develop the environmental equipment manufacturing industry in nine key fields, including air pollution prevention equipment, and water pollution prevention equipment, etc.; every key field shall cultivate dozens of leading enterprises reaching RMB 10 billion scale by 2020, with the output of the environmental equipment manufacturing industry to reach RMB 1 trillion.

The EP & Clean Tech, the industry event second to none in Asian pharmaceutical environmental protection and clean technology field, has been committed to driving the development of the environmental protection industry in the pharmaceutical industry field over the 6 years since its launch. The 2018 exhibition will continue to deeply implement the idea of "Green Pharma, Clean Pharma" together with over 2,000 pharmaceutical enterprises from CPhI China, and help pharmaceutical companies find better green solutions in aspects of policies and regulations, engineering technology, waste treatment, recycling, and environment monitoring through innovative product and technology display, information sharing on the concurrent summit, and exchange and interaction with policy and technology experts.

Besides, the host will continue to conduct discussions of environmental challenges, possible solutions, and technical applications the pharmaceutical industry is confronted with under the new normal in association with All-China Environment Federation and through gathering an advisory group in the environmental policy field of China and an expert panel in the environmental equipment and technology, to bring colleagues in the engineering environmental protection more market information on pharmaceutical environmental protection development. The 2017 site attracted an audience of over 120 people from API and biopharmaceutical field companies such as Sinopharm, Acebright, Dupont, Siemens, Yiling Pharmaceutical, and 3SBio, who expressed that they had unexpected gains, understood policy development of the pharmaceutical environmental protection, and learned many green production technologies in the seminar.
