Activate Interactive Pte. Ltd. (Activate) has officially been appointed as the lead provider of the Firstbeat Lifestyle Assessment (FLA), a 24/7 monitoring tool for health and wellness checks. The launch date of 1 Oct 2017 will also usher in Singapore’s role as a launching pad to bring the FLA to other parts of Asia.
In alignment with Singapore’s efforts towards developing a Smart Nation, the FLA uses the Bodyguard 2, a mini EGC device that captures heart rate variability (HRV) data to analyse how the body interacts and responds to daily activities and environmental factors. Data suggest that prolonged periods of stress without the chance for bodily recovery may result in reduced productivity, health issues and general exhaustion. This professional grade assessment tool is thus recommended for any company or group looking to build the best resources of any organisation: their people.
Digitally monitoring for physiological changes, the FLA highlights areas of insufficient recovery and offers opportunities for preventative solutions before a situation becomes detrimental to an individual or company. Once the connection between lifestyle and well-being is established, this data is then used across work, leisure, and even sleep to craft a comprehensive picture of an individual’s health and performance.
"We have seen firsthand that with the right perspective anyone can take steps towards a healthier, happier, more productive life," says Firstbeat CEO Joni Kettunen. "It’s about finding the areas where making slight changes can have a significant impact. Over the past decade, Firstbeat has positively impacted over 250,000 lives with our work in northern Europe and the UK. Working together with Activate enables us to bring life changing insights to the people of Singapore. It’s an exciting and promising opportunity." says Firstbeat CEO Joni Kettunen.
Based on previous feedback, 85%of employees reported feeling more productive at work, leave of absence days were reduced by as much as 32%, with another 88% experiencing an overall improvement to their wellbeing. Such measurables may easily be shared via graphical charts for easy comprehension, enabling accurate behavioural changes towards a healthier, fitter and more productive lifestyle. This too would serve as a preventive health measure, flowing with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s words of advice during his National Day Rally speech to Singaporeans who want to beat diabetes.
"The Asia market requires a digital health leader that understands its cultural diversity – and Activate perfectly fulfills that role," shares Joel Chin, CEO of Activate. "These are truly exciting times. We will be portioning resources and consolidating our experience to execute successful go-to-market strategies moving forward."
