The UK’s first ever international summit for supporting cannabis innovation in the country has been slated to be held on 25 and 26 October in London this year.
Named CannaTech UK, the summit will host several researchers and scientists, ag-tech, pharma experts, regulators, investors, companies and entrepreneurs who will share their knowledge about the growing industry of medical cannabis.
The participants will learn about opportunities related to the cannabis market, and will also come to know about the latest technologies and research in the field, as well as the newest in regulatory development across the European Union (EU).
Pharmaceutical company iCAN: Israel-Cannabis founder and chief executive officer Saul Kaye explained the reason why CannaTech will be held in the UK this year.
Kaye said: "London is the financial capital of the world and a gateway to Europe, despite Brexit.
"The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MRHA) and regulators are starting to see the need for better regulation that reflects the current social and medical status of cannabis, yet they are moving slower than pretty much everyone else out there.
"Interest from UK investors in the sector is at an all-time high. Mothers are outraged over the lack of access to products for epilepsy, pain, and cancer treatments.
"As we have seen in other countries this is one of the biggest drivers towards better access for patients."
CannaTech UK will focus on a wide range of discussions related to medical cannabis and cannabis start-up spheres, which would include topics such as ‘The Rise of the ‘Cannaceutical’, ‘A Comprehensive Overview on the State of Medical Cannabis in Europe’, and ‘What Every Investor Needs to Know About the Regulatory Environment.’
