‘Indian Pharmacovigilance Day 2017’ conference, will be held on July 28, 2017 in Hyderabad. Dr J Vijay Venkatraman, MD and CEO, Oviya MedSafe, a global pharmacovigilance consulting and drug safety services-providing organisation based in Coimbatore, India and London, UK will chair the conference.
Dr Vijay has been the Chair of all the three annual editions of the UK Pharmacovigilance Day conference since its launch in 2015 and the first Indian Pharmacovigilance Day conference in 2016, which were successfully organised at London and in Mumbai respectively.
The ‘Pharmacovigilance Day’ series of conferences has been organised in different parts of the world by EasyB srl, an Italian company that specialises in producing conferences and seminars dedicated to the pharma sector such as clinical research, pharmacovigilance, statistics and epidemiology, since 2008. The ‘Pharmacovigilance Day’ series of events aspire to bring together drug safety experts from the pharma and healthcare industry: pharma and medical devices companies, biotechnology firms, government agencies, academic research and so on, from a specific country or region with the aim of providing a platform for discussing pharmacovigilance issues that are unique to the concerned country/ region.
Dr Venkatraman said, "With news of the revised draft of the ‘Pharmacovigilance Guidelines for Marketing Authorization Holders of Pharmaceutical Products in India’ being close to finalisation by the Indian regulatory authorities, understanding pharmacovigilance is now a compelling need for all the stakeholders in India.
