Versiti introduces new hematology test panels

Healthcare organisation Versiti’s division BloodCentre of Wisconsin’s Diagnostic Laboratories has introduced seven new haematology genetics test panels. These have been developed for various non-malignant haematology disorders such as platelet function disorders, inherited thrombocytopenia and congenital neutropenias.

The combination of functional and genetic testing is expected to allow diagnosis of complex haematology conditions and enable a personalised review of patients to enhance care and outcomes.

The team includes molecular pathologists, scientists, practicing clinicians, genetic counsellors, and laboratorians who work towards understanding health history, family history and laboratory phenotype of each patient for a personalised approach.

The centre focuses on blood services, esoteric diagnostic testing, organ, tissue and stem cell donation, medical services and research, while it’s Diagnostic Laboratories deliver patient care with better insights into treatment options.

The laboratories also collaborate with other organisations and industry partners to develop new diagnostic testing and treatment options.
