Zuellig Pharma Cambodia appointed Vice-Chairman of the Cambodia Healthcare Committee

Proud to announce that Zuellig Pharma Cambodia was elected the Vice-Chairman of the Cambodia Healthcare committee last month. Hosted by the European Chamber of Commerce, the committee compromises of key healthcare stakeholders, manufacturers and distributors, committed to improving access to healthcare in Cambodia.

Through this appointment, Zuellig Pharma Cambodia will reinforce its position as a driver of compliance across Asia. 

Zuellig Pharma Cambodia General Manager, Jean-Gaetan Guillemaud said this first-time appointment is an exciting opportunity to be an active enforcer of ethical practices. "Our first priority is to create an open and transparent line of communication with other Cambodia healthcare stakeholders, to collaborate together and ensure patient safety, a pledge which is in the DNA of our company, as well as all our employees here in Cambodia".

 The first board meeting took place on 26 May, with the intention of tackling urgent issues such as prevention of counterfeits and illegal imports in the country. "Patient safety is a key area that we want to focus on, we have been active players of the Healthcare Committee for years and this appointment is an opportunity to shift gears and build on previous efforts," he added. 

First on the list for the new committee is the submission of a White Book by September to the Ministry of Health. "We will work closely together with the Cambodia Counterfeit Committee and EU Ambassador to include pioneering ideas and initiatives in the White Book. An example would be simplification of regulatory processes, to ensure innovative drugs can reach patients as early as possible".
