Healthcare as one of the most important industries for the society was one of the first to become top priority for the country after the restoration of independence in the beginning of the 90’s. The first steps in the field were made from 1995 to 2003; however the real wave of changes came in 2004 during which period major investments were incorporated into increasing human assets in healthcare and developing infrastructure.

From 2006 government launched new programs under which almost 900 000 people were insured until the end of 2010, the plan is to insure majority of the citizens equaled to 2.5 million people.

However the main problem still remained quantity and quality of the medical facilities and human resources in the field. In 2013 government launched a new program that concentrated on reconstructing hospitals and building new medical facilities, until the end of the same year more than 150 hospitals were renewed, medical facilities became multi profiled to ensure maximum comfort for the people, on top of that a plan was set into motion for each administrative entity to have their own hospital, which rapidly increased the need for healthcare products, equipment, accessories and medical staff.
