β - CD has good inclusion properties, specific surface area, porous structure and unique host guest properties. Macrocyclic compounds CDs are known for their inclusion ability. In order to improve the Physicochemical / biopharmaceutical properties and inclusion ability of drugs, several chemical and polymerized parent CDs derivatives have been synthesized. The future of polymeric CDs is promising because they can be used as a useful multi-functional tool for pharmaceutical scientists to develop and optimize drugs delivered through various routes and to manufacture biosensors. In the aspect of drug delivery, the proper way of monomer administration was selected to make full use of the inclusion ability of β - CD. The copolymers were characterized by X-ray diffraction (PXRD), TGA (thermogravimetric analysis), DSC and FTIR. Different methods of synthesizing β - CD copolymers with different functional monomers and crosslinkers were introduced. The optimum synthesis methods and conditions of β - CD copolymers were introduced. In addition, β - CD is also used in tissue engineering, packaging materials, drug delivery, cosmetics, personal care and cosmetics, waste management, catalytic adhesives and coatings industry.
At the same time, the pharmaceutical excipients hydroxypropyl beta cyclodextrin (Hydroxypropyl Betadex) and sulfobutyl beta cyclodextrin sodium (Betadex Sulfobutyl Ether Sodium) have obtained the drug production approval number and clinical approval, and have been registered in the State Food and Drug Administration CDE and the United States DMF.
