Silymarin is a natural flavonoid lignan compound, which is a natural active substance extracted from the dried fruit of the Compositae plant silymarin. Silymarin is insoluble in water easily soluble in acetone, ethyI acetate , methanol ethanol and slightly soluble in chloroform.
