Tris HCl, abbreviated as Tris HCl, is a hydrochloride salt of trihydroxymethyl aminomethane. Tris HCl buffer is not only widely used as a solvent for nucleic acids and proteins, but also has many important applications. Tris HCl was used for protein crystal growth under different pH conditions. The low ionic strength characteristic of Tris HCL buffer can be used for the formation of intermediate fibers in the lamin of C. elegans. Tris HCl is also one of the main components of protein electrophoresis buffer. In addition, Tris HCL is also used as an intermediate in the preparation of surfactants, vulcanization accelerators, and some drugs. Tris HCl is also used as a titration standard. Preparation of buffer solution: Tris HCl buffer solution with a concentration of 6.057g/L and pH=8.8 was prepared by adjusting the pH value of HCl aqueous solution with a concentration of 0.1mol/Chemicalbook L using Tris HCl hydrochloride as the solute and deionized water as the solvent. Advantages: 1. Tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane hydrochloride has good water solubility, high solubility in water, and clear liquid; 2. High purity, up to 99%, stable performance when used; 3. The pH value of all buffer solutions depends on temperature and concentration. For Tris buffer, for every 1 ° C increase in temperature, CpH increases by approximately 0.03 units, and for every 10 fold dilution, pH decreases by 0.03-0.05 units.
