Diphenylphosphine is an organophosphorus compound commonly used in laboratories, a colorless liquid with an unpleasant odor, irritating, easy to be oxidized in the air and spontaneous combustion, sensitive to air and light, and needs to be protected with nitrogen. It can be used as a precursor for the synthesis of a variety of organophosphine ligands. It can be converted to diphenyl Chemicalbook-based phosphimidates by deprotonation: Ph2PH+nBuLi→Ph2PLi+nBuH, phosphine ligands such as 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane and 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)propane, Wittich-Hornard reagent, and quaternary phosphonium salts are usually achieved by alkylation of diphenylphosphine. |
