Hydroxypropyl beta cyclodextrin appears as a white powder with good solubility in water and a certain degree of relative hygroscopicity. However, the relative surface activity and hemolytic activity are relatively low. It has no stimulating effect on muscles and is an ideal injection solubilizer and drug excipient.
The introduction of hydroxypropyl overcomes the limitations of maintaining the cyclodextrin cavity β- The main drawback of poor water solubility of cyclodextrin.
